Sleep Apnea

What is sleep apnea? Sleep apnea is a common condition that is characterized by the repetitive obstruction of airflow into your lungs during sleep, causing repeated pauses in breathing and resulting in negative health risks if left untreated.

The quality of sleep can say a lot about someone’s general health conditions.  People with snoring problems have a greater chance of heart attacks and those suffering from insomnia are more prone to depression.

Restless Leg Syndrome

What is Restless Leg Syndrome? Restless Leg Syndrome (RLS) is an uncomfortable sensation in the legs that is relieved by moving or stimulating the legs. Approximately 10 percent of Americans suffer from this sleep disorder.

Bruxism (Teeth Grinding)

What is Bruxism (Teeth Grinding)? Bruxism (BRUK-siz-um) is a condition in which you grind, gnash or clench your teeth. If you have bruxism, you may unconsciously clench your teeth together during the day or grind them at night, which is called sleep bruxism.

Sleep Walking

What is Sleep Walking? Activities that occur while you sleep are called parasomnias. They can be very disruption to sleep quality and during these episodes, dangerous activity can occur. Parasomnias include sleep walking, cooking or driving while asleep.

Snoring

What is snoring? Snoring occurs when the flow of air from the mouth or nose to your lungs makes the tissues of your throat vibrate during sleep. Vibrations can be severe and loud sounds can be emitted from the sleeping individual.

Night Terrors

What are Night Terrors? Sleep terrors are episodes of fear, flailing and screaming while asleep. Also known as night terrors, sleep terrors often are paired with sleepwalking. Although sleep terrors are more common in children, they can affect adults. 

Narcolepsy

What is narcolepsy? Narcolepsy is an uncommon neurological disorder that causes excessive sleepiness throughout the day. This lifelong condition can develop at any age, however it is most common to appear in adolescence or young adulthood.
